Fresh Produce
You really can find just about anything, from soup to nuts, at the Stuart Green Market. Our vendors offer a variety of fruits, vegetables and seafood. Our goal is to offer fresh, healthy and affordable produce, the same food our families eat.
Local farming roots are deep
Something is always growing along the Treasure Coast. We are very lucky to live close to Florida’s farm-rich expanses. South Florida farming took many hits over the last several decades as once fertile ground was turned into new communities. Fortunately, the emphasis seems to have changed from huge international agribusiness to farms and gardens devoted to natural and organic practices. Growers and farmers realize their customers are friends and neighbors. Most of our produce vendors are pretty involved with growing and harvesting the produce they sell.
Pineapples but no apples
There aren’t many foods that can’t be grown in Florida. And believe it or not — we do have seasons. Greens such as kale are grown from fall to late spring. Mangoes and Lychees are at peak from late May into early July. We will keep you updated with our picks for locally grown produce.
Our vendors depend on the availability of locally grown produce, so when necessary they do bring in produce from out of area growers — ones they know and depend on to have the same high standards regarding food.
Fresh seafood
The same can be said for our seafood vendors who offer lobsters, clams, shrimp, fish and freshly made conch dishes. Seafood often goes from the boat to to the market, so customers are getting seafood at its freshest. Remember, fishing has seasons too.
You can check with produce vendors for specific items you may want. Better yet, plan a weekly trip to the market for your family’s produce needs.
