Perhaps a birthday or a wedding or a favorite holiday…Pick any day and it will be a treat to celebrate it with the artistry of “Candace the Cook”. As a vendor at the Stuart Green Market, we have all had the chance to sample the Best of the Best: maybe it was chocolate (of course, but the gluten free version is “to die for”!), or vanilla or key lime, maybe red velvet, carrot, peanut butter, or raspberry. Dream your favorite cake or cupcake variety and Candace can create a confection to celebrate any event.turkey cake

What at first appears to be a festive holiday staple (perfectly done just like mom’s) is ACTUALLY 100% cake and icing. How’s that for optical illusions? Come visit us on Sundays for more treats for your sweets!

VENDOR of the WEEK: “Karen’s Crepe Nook”

Many residents and Green Marketers will recall a favorite vendor of years past known as “A Bunch of Crepes”. Originally owned by Ron Spencer (husband to our former Manager Bobbi Spencer), A Bunch of Crepes was a staple for Sunday morning delicacies. Nothing could compare with a freshly crafted crepe made right before your eyes! But in 2012, we bid goodbye to the Spencers from our Market, and Mr. Mike Brierty took over the reins and gave the business the name – “Karen’s Crepe Nook” in honor of his mother.

Since then, Mike has treated us all to amazing combinations of the freshest, handmade ingredients in his masterfully crafted crepes. What an amazing treat to enjoy a hot crepe stuffed with strawberries and the ever popular Nutella. Or maybe blueberries and cream cheese. Or bison and ratatouille. Or a good old-fashioned cheddar, bacon and spinach crepe. (I am drooling just thinking about them.)

If you have not joined us for breakfast one Sunday, now is your reason to get out of bed. A recent patron of the Market was a 76-year-old man from South Carolina – and he had never had a crepe in his life. After enjoying one from Karen’s Crepe Nook, he commented, “WOW, this stuff is excellent!!” You are never too old to try something new in life!!

Please come join us…

Fall into fresh market offerings

Season is upon us at the Stuart Green Market! You can always tell when the farmers return and there gets to be a little, teeny-tiny cool down in the mornings. This week we are happy to have the return of Vertical Horizon Farm produce, as well as Stephen’s Produce join us again with their freshly harvested crops. Soon we will have on board D and D Farm and Kai Kai Farm with their produce offerings. Come and join us for great locally grown food, flowers, baked goods, custom artisan crafts, and freshly made gourmet prepared food for breakfast and lunch.
